The vision of the Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley is to be the organization that will create a united voice in the Latino Community of the Lehigh Valley with one mission, several callings, and many alliances.
About LLA of the Lehigh Valley Missions:
- Strengthen the Latino community through leadership development, education, health and cultural activities/events.
- Provide a public forum for discussion and dissemination of information.
- Seek to improve the quality of life for the Latino community and the entire Lehigh Valley.
The LLA has decided to take this year to rebirth, redevelop, and in the words of Puerto Rican singer songwriter Luis Fonsi, “widen the path of opportunities and continue to leave a powerful and positive legacy in this world.” We believe the LLA of the Lehigh Valley is needed now more than ever as the Latino population is growing vastly and leadership, advocacy, education and empowerment for Latinos is far to none. The LLA is here and the newly appointed Board members embody the mission of LLA and bring talent, expertise, knowledge, experience and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to join our returning directors as we continue working to increase the opportunities for Latinos to serve on corporate boards.

LATINO LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY ANNOUNCES THE 2015 “NUESTRO FUTURO” SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS BREAKFAST
Allentown, PA – July 31, 2015 The Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley celebrtaeed its 2015 “Nuestro Futuro” Scholarship Breakfast at DeSales University this past tuesday, Juy 28th. Every year since 2005, the organization has awarded scholarships to Latino students in the Lehigh Valley. The organization awarded 35 scholarships this year. Eligible students are of Latino background, from the Lehigh Valley, and pursuing a degree in an accredited institution of higher education. The criteria for selection include financial need, promising academic performance, involvement in community activities, and a personal recommendation. Scholars must submit evidence of financial need.
The Latino Leadership Alliance maintains partnerships with local higher education institutions such as Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Moravian College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Northampton Community College and the Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College. Additional scholarships are awarded with the support of sponsors such as PPL Corporation, PNC Bank, Embassy Bank, National Penn Bank, KNBT Charitable Foundation, La Ola Radio and HGSK Law Firm as well as individual donors.

LA ALIANZA LATINA DE LIDERAZGO DEL VALLE DE LEHIGH CELEBRA EL DESAYUNO DE LAS BECAS “NUESTRO FUTURO” 2015
Allentown, PA – Julio 31, 2015 La Alianza Latina de Liderazgo del Valle de Lehigh celebró el Desayuno de las Becas “Nuestro Futuro” 2015 este martes, el 28 de julio en la Universidad DeSales. Anualmente, desde el 2005, la organización otorga becas a estudiantes latinos del Valle de Lehigh
La organización otorgó 35 becas este año. Para solicitar un beca, los requisitos a cumplir son el ser de ascendencia latina, residente del Valle de Lehigh, cursando una carrera en una institución acreditada de educación superior. Los criterios de selección incluyen la necesidad económica, rendimiento académico prometedor, participación en actividades comunitarias y una recomendación personal. Los eruditos deben presentar evidencia de la necesidad económica.
La Alianza Latina de Liderazgo mantiene concordancias con instituciones de educación superior locales como Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Moravian College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Northampton Community College y la Escuela Wescoe de Muhlenberg College. Se otorgan becas adicionales con el apoyo de nuestros patrocinadores tales como PPL Corporation, PNC Bank, Embassy Bank, National Penn Bank, KNBT Charitable Foundation, La Ola Radio y el Bufete de HGSK además de donantes individuales.

The Latino Leadership Alliance has established long partnerships with local higher education institutions such as Cedar Crest College, DeSales Univesity, Kutztown University, Moravian College, Lehigh Carbon Community College, Northampton Community College and the Wescoe School at Muhlenberg College.
Other scholarships are awarded with the support of our sponsors which includes Air Products, Capital Blue Cross, Lehigh Valley Health Network, PNC Bank, PPL Corporation, and Susquehanna Bank. Donors include Campbell, Rappold & Yurasists, LLP, Embassy Bank, KNBT Bank, Eric J. & Deborah L. Gartner, Louis & Julia Hansrote, and Rev. Robert H. Wellner.
This year the Latino Leadership Alliance Endowment will be awarding for the first time four scholarships in to honor Louis Ramos for his outstanding work with Latinos in our community. Since the organization first awarded scholarships in 2005, we have seen many success stories of scholarship recipients that have earned their degrees and are leading successful lives as professionals. On March 18th, the President of Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley, Cynthia Atamian and two recipients of scholarships from 2005 and 2006 were interviewed by José Antonio Ortiz on Nuestro Valle on RCN TV. They discussed the impact these scholarships have on students, how it has changed their lives, and how the community and organizations can continue to support this initiative.
